Contents
This page contains lets you download trial/beta versions of CRiSP. Some of these versions are older versions for customers on maintenance. If you are trying CRiSP for the first time, please download the latest release available.
The software available here is provided on an as is basis. This software should not be downloaded by non-existing customers. If you are not an existing customer then you are advised to contact one of the Sales outlets who can send you a complete version and provide support.
Some of the distributions on this site may be incomplete and will be designed with particular people in mind. What you might find here may vary frequently or come with little or no documentation. So unless you are happy to deal with a pre-release then it is better to go the official route.
If you want to try out one of these versions of CRiSP, but have CRiSP already installed then the best option is to install the software into an alternate directory. You can copy your existing configuration over by copying $HOME/.Crisp (for Unix) or install\config for Windows to an alternate directory and setting the CRCONFIG environment variable to point to this directory before invoking this test release.
This will give you maximum flexibility in switching between the older and newer versions of software.
NOTE: All Unix versions are downloaded as files with a .EXE file extensions. To install the software, ensure the file downloaded is executable (e.g. chmod 755 filename.exe) and execute the file, e.g.:
$ chmod 755 sol2-sparc-b1234.exe $ ./sol2-sparc-b1234.exe
The files are self-installing compressed-tar files. You will be asked to select where to install the software.
Note that the Unix binaries will perform a checksum test of the file - so you may see a delay at first as it scans the binary to ensure no corruptions occurred when downloading the files.

There are two Solaris Sparc releases: sol2-sparc works on
Solaris 2.5.1 and above. sol26-sparc works on 2.6 and above. The main
difference between the two is that the 2.6 release supports large files (> 2GB).
The 2.5 release will run on later versions of Solaris but large files will be invisible
and not editable (they won't appear in the Open File menus). Grab the 2.6 release if
you are running an appropriate version of Solaris.
The following section lists the version 8.1 binaries available.

here.
Note if you use BSDI 4.2 or above, the Linux emulation is sufficient
to run the Linux libc6 binary below, so if that is a later version,
then please use this instead.
